A quote from one of our fantastic mums Vongayi about her Home-Start volunteer Kayleigh appeared on the BT Tower this month, read more below….
This is both both heart breaking and full of hope. It’s today’s message about a Home-Start Volunteer that’s being beamed out from the BT Tower in London.
It says “Kayleigh helped me to find a way to live” and is from mum Vongayi who sadly lost one of her twin boys at just 19 days old. Today would have been his second birthday.
Vongayi found support from Home-Start Glasgow North and North Lanarkshire where her volunteer Kayleigh has helped her to heal. She says “Kayleigh understood what it was like to have lost a child. Her understanding and empathy gave me strength.
“I don’t know what would have happened to us if during this time we didn’t have Home-Start holding us up.
“I know my grief will never go away. But through the love and support I got from Home-Start, they’ve helped me to find a way to live. They’ve helped me to have a life beyond my struggles and heart ache. To have someone see you and say ‘let’s take a walk’ really does go a long way. I’m so grateful.”
