“I was invited by my brother and sister in law to join them to walk the West Highland Way. I was flattered when they asked me, and I thought when else would I get the chance, so why not seize the day!
I admire Home-Start and the work that they do. They are a great team, very supportive, and I know that families value the work that they do.
The third day was the biggest challenge. The terrain at Loch Lomond was more challenging than I was expecting. The water from the hills was meaning we had to cross some pretty deep streams.
However, the bed and breakfast was lovely, with some homemade banana loaf on arrival! Meeting other walkers and reuniting at coffee stops was a definite highlight.
During the last mile into Rowardennan, after lots of up and down walking, I pushed through by singing to myself “keep right on to the end of the road”
I was a bit bashful about asking people to sponsor me, but was so pleased with the amount raised. I am very grateful for all the generous people who sponsored me and donated to Home-Start GNNL”
We can’t thank you enough Marilyn! ?
