Image of the team in a meeting room sat around tables watching Tommy Whitelaw tood at the front delivering his person centre talk on kindness, he is pointing at a large monitor.

Tommy Whitelaw is the Person-Centred Voices National Lead for Scotland’s Health and Social Care Alliance and promotes person-centred approaches and ‘Intelligent Kindness’ across all areas of care and support.

We were delighted that he joined us today to share both his deeply personal story about caring for his beautiful Mum, who had vascular dementia, and about the importance of making care more personal.

He encouraged honest, meaningful conversations by simply asking, “What matters to you?” – a simple question, but one of the most important questions we can ask of ourselves, of the people we support, and of the people we work alongside.

A truly inspiring conversation.
