At Home-Start Glasgow North & North Lanarkshire, we were pleased to have supported families to participate in the review, sharing their own experiences and those of their wider family during a meeting at our office in 2019.
We now join others across the Home-Start network in identifying how we can support the implementation of The Promise to ensure all children have the best possible start and supports are available to ensure families can be safe, happy, loved and together whenever possible.
Alan Webb, chair of the Home-Start Scotland National Committee said:
“Home-Start welcomes the findings of the review, particularly around the commitment to keeping children with their families and a need for universal support. We believe that investment in early help and community-based support that works alongside each family is the best way to help families stay together. This means identifying individual needs and shaping participative support that enables families to retain control of their lives.”
